BBC Takes iD Doc Title

NEW YORK, August 7: iD Distribution has licensed Farther
Than The Eye Can See
, a documentary from
Rainbow Media’s Rush HD channel, to the BBC.

The special will air on August 13 at 9 p.m. as part of the
BBC’s high-definition trial. From filmmaker Michael Brown, the film profiles
Erik Weihenmayer, a blind athlete, as he embarks on a trip to the top of Mount
Everest.

“Over the 10 months since we announced the global expansion
of Rainbow programming, we have been particularly pleased with international
broadcasters’ growing positive reception to HD,” said Glenn Oakley, Rainbow’s
senior VP of business development. “It’s validating and encouraging to see the BBC
recognizing the importance of this technology with their trials, and we are
happy to be part of it.”

Added iD Distribution MD Sally Miles: "The quality of
this documentary from Rainbow Media's VOOM HD catalogue is earning high praise
and keen interest from programmers around the globe as the industry moves to
adopt HD as its standard of broadcast. And with clients like the BBC coming on
board, Rainbow is definitely poised as the market leader in entertaining HD
programming."

Since Rainbow launched its international initiative in
October 2005, iD Distribution has sold over 600 hours of VOOM HD programming to
broadcasters around the world.
