New Movie-Themed Channel Takes CABLEready Series

NORWALK, June 20: Hubbard
Broadcasting’s ReelzChannel has acquired all seven seasons of CABLEready’s The
Directors in advance of its
September 27 U.S. rollout.

The series, first launched
on Starz Encore, profiles Hollywood’s top filmmakers, among them Steven
Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Milos Forman, Robert Altman, Spike Lee, Sidney
Lumet, Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott. Each episode is being updated by
producers Media Entertainment to include these directors’ most recent works.
Gary Lico, president and CEO of CABLEready, noted, “The series is a perfect fit
for ReelzChannel as it begins its mission to provide mainstream cable viewers
with everything they need to know about the world of movies.”

ReelzChannel,
with offices in Minneapolis/St.Paul and Los Angeles, was founded by Hubbard
Media Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hubbard Broadcasting. It launches in
September in 28 million homes. First announced in 2000 as MovieWatch, the
channel is focused on providing programming about movies. Its original series
slate includes, among others, Dailies, My Big Break, Toughest
Gigz in the Biz, Movie
SmackDown and It Factor.
