Lionsgate’s Jim Packer

Jim Packer, Lionsgate’s president of worldwide television and digital distribution, discusses how the company has been one of the pioneers of innovative financing and distribution models, and he gives some examples of how the company is financing shows today.

Lionsgate was one of the first studios to sell programming to digital platforms. In monetizing Lionsgate’s film and television library, Packer has always examined all possible outlets for a given title and looked for broadcasters and platforms willing to commit to multiple seasons of shows. With Lionsgate’s acquisition of Starz, Packer and his team have an even broader range of product to offer clients, and Lionsgate’s library is boosting Starz’s international rollout.
