Debbie Back to Head Up Big Media’s Movie Division

NEW YORK/PRAGUE: Industry veteran Debbie Back, who previously held roles at Sonar Entertainment and MTV Networks International, has been appointed by Big Media to the newly created role of head of sales and acquisitions for the company’s movie division.

Back will oversee all acquisition and sales activities for the new unit. Most recently, Back served as senior VP for North American sales at Sonar Entertainment. She also was previously VP/head of worldwide sales at National Geographic Kids, and held a 16-year tenure at MTV Networks International.

“Debbie brings a wealth of experience and contacts to the table, and we are excited to have her join our team in a leadership and operational capacity,” said Big Media’s CEO, Jon Loew.

Back added, “Big Media is one of the last truly independent studios in the world of Television and film. Development, finance and production are all under one roof, and I am excited to leverage that strength in the world of movies.”
