A+E Networks UK Appoints Former Scripps Exec as VP of Operations

LONDON: A+E Networks UK has tapped Matthew Westrup for the new role of VP of operations, effective in March.

In his new position, Westrup will oversee broadcast operations, media management, facilities and IT infrastructure for all of A+E Networks’s channels across the U.K., Ireland, Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Benelux, Eastern Mediterranean, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. Westrup will be charged with building on the established reach of A+E Networks’s brands to ensure delivery of content to viewers and clients across the EMEA region, as well as development and investment with an eye toward future innovation.

Westrup joins A+E Networks UK from Scripps Networks Interactive, where he served as director of operations for the U.K. and EMEA. Prior to that, he was head of operations at Travel Channel International. Westrup will report to Nicolas Eglau, the COO of A+E Networks UK and general manager for the Nordics, the Benelux and CEEMEA.
