LONDON: Sky has invested a further $400,000 in Jaunt, a video start-up specializing in cinematic virtual reality.

BSkyB previously made a $350,000 equity investment in the California-based company in an earlier round of funding in December 2013. According to Sky, the move gives it "additional insight into developments within the field."

The technology firm, which was set up by Jens Christensen, has developed technology that allows users to explore virtual worlds in immersive 3D. It specializes in video capture and display.
