FIC Brings in COO for Southern Europe, Africa

LISBON: FOX International Channels (FIC) has hired Vera Pinto Pereira as the company's chief operating officer (COO) for Southern Europe and Africa.

Pinto Pereira will be charged with strengthening the company's existing relationships with its partners throughout the region, while also looking for new business opportunities. She will work out of Lisbon under Adam Theiler, FIC's executive VP for Southern Europe and Africa.

Before this appointment, Pinto Pereira spent six years working as the TV service director of MEO, Portugal Telecom's pay-TV platform. Prior to that, she held the same title at ZON Optimus, previously known as TVCabo.

Theiler stated: "Vera is a commercially savvy, respected pay-TV executive whose extensive experience throughout a notably successful career will enhance FIC's ability to appreciate the aims—and challenges—of our affiliate partners throughout South Europe and Africa. Vera is both an innovator and a pioneer of the pay-TV sector in Portugal and as COO for the region she will be instrumental in defining our strategic path forward across territories in different stages of development.
