World Screen to Present Content Trendsetter Awards at MIPCOM

NEW YORK/PARIS: World Screen is presenting the second annual Content Trendsetter Awards in partnership with MIPCOM, honoring the achievements of some of the world’s top programming buyers.

This year’s honorees are Malcolm Dunlop, the executive VP of television programming and operations at Rogers Media in Canada; Gill Hay, the head of acquisitions at Channel 4 in the U.K.; Beverley McGarvey, the network head of programming at Network Ten in Australia; and John Ranelagh, the head of acquisitions at TV2 Norway in Norway.

These executives will receive the Content Trendsetter Award at the end of the Acquisition Super Panel: What Do Buyers Want? session at MIPCOM. Taking place at the Grand Auditorium in the Palais, this must-attend panel will see the honorees discussing their buying strategies in conversation with Anna Carugati, World Screen‘s group editorial director.

"We are thrilled to be working with Reed MIDEM again to honor buyers with the second annual World Screen Content Trendsetter Awards," said Ricardo Guise, the president and publisher of World Screen. "These programmers have developed keen eyes for high-quality, brand-defining, top-rating content in highly competitive markets. We look forward to hearing their insights at the Acquisition Super Panel and are excited to be honoring their achievements at MIPCOM."

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with World Screen and to be honoring outstanding program buyers at MIPCOM,” said Laurine Garaude, the director of Reed MIDEM’s television division. “The second edition of the Content Trendsetter Awards will distinguish excellence in program buying strategies at a time of highly evolving consumer habits.”
