MONACO: Monaco Mediax, which organizes such industry events as the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, Imagina, SportelMonaco and SportelAsia, has promoted Laurent Puons to the role of general manager, as David Tomatis leaves his CEO duties to take on a new senior position as advisor to the cabinet of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince.

Puons joined Monaco Mediax in September 2000 to manage the company’s administrative and financial departments. He helped steer the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in a new direction, becoming open to the public and experiencing much growth. Puons took charge of the digital festival Imagina. He later helped launch the Monaco Media Forum and created WIMA. Puons now takes over a split position with Tomatis’s exit of the CEO role. Amparo DiFede takes over as the administrative director of Monaco Mediax.

Puons commented, “I’m delighted to undertake this new role at Monaco Mediax—my key aim is to put together innovative events that contribute to Monaco’s leading international status, adding to the Principality’s global prestige and reputation. I will be putting all my energy and commitment into ensuring that the development and growth of Monaco Mediax continues to go from strength to strength.”
