LONDON: CreaCon Entertainment has secured two new licensing deals for its preschool property City of Friends for international live mini-shows and character appearances.

The new licensing agreements follow the launch of the first City of Friends live stage show in Norway this month. Rainbow Productions has been selected to manage all character appearances and mini-shows in the U.K., and MEI will manage all mini-shows and character appearances across Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. City of Friends launched in the U.K. in October on Channel Five’s Milkshake.

Carl Christian Hamre, the founder and CEO of CreaCon Entertainment, said: “Following a successful broadcast launch in the U.K. on Channel Five’s Milkshake!, we are taking the next step in our global strategy to build and grow our live events business for City of Friends. We are pleased to be working with Rainbow Productions and MEI, best-in-class partners in delivering live events. Live shows and character appearances will take the property to the next level and provide our audience with another way to interact with their favorite characters.”

David Scott, the managing director of Rainbow Productions, added: “We are delighted to be working on City of Friends, a fantastic property with a proven track record around the world and now in the UK. Carl Christian is a real visionary and it has been an absolute pleasure working with him over the past few years and looking forward to building the City of Friends brand in the U.K.”

Nick Larkin, the managing director MEI, commented: “From the moment I was introduced to City of Friends, I loved the wonderful characters, fantastic stories and wonderful moral values they had to tell. The whole back story to how Carl Christian came to take these wonderful stories he told his son and within a matter of a few years is now delighting children in more than 145 countries is an inspiring tale. MEI looks forward to bringing the magic of City of Friends to life across Asia, the Middle East and Europe in the months and years to come.”
