NEW YORK: Bruce Tuchman, the former president of MGM Worldwide Networks, has been named the president of AMC/Sundance Channel Global.

In his new role, Tuchman will be based in New York City, leading the strategic expansion of the company’s global business, including the distribution, programming and marketing of Sundance Channel, currently distributed in Europe, Canada and Asia, and WE tv, distributed in Asia. He will report to Ed Carroll, the COO of AMC Networks.

Tuchman served as president at MGM Worldwide Networks since 2001. There, he developed and managed MGM’s interests in cable, satellite and other television networks. During his tenure, MGM launched channels for the first time across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, while the division continued to grow its existing channel businesses across Latin America and Asia.

“Bruce brings tremendous experience successfully launching networks and growing existing businesses throughout the world, making him an ideal executive to maximize our growth opportunities in key regions internationally,” said Carroll. “As we continue to experience momentum for our global business and international demand for our brands, we look forward to Bruce leading our operations through our next phase of growth.”
