Advertising, FremantleMedia Boost RTL Results

LUXEMBOURG: RTL Group’s revenues for the third quarter rose 6.6 percent to 1.2 billion euros, with EBITA up 8.3 percent to 144 million euros.

The company reported increased ad revenues at its broadcast outlets in Germany, France and the Netherlands, which also saw ratings improvements. Also driving the gains at RTL Group in the quarter were strong results at FremantleMedia, led by the rollout of The X Factor, Got Talent and The Farmer Wants a Wife brands.

For the first nine months of the year, revenues were up 4.4 percent to 4 billion euros, with an EBITA of 701 million euros, a 4.6-percent increase.

Meanwhile, press reports indicate that RTL Group is interested in acquiring Endemol. Time Warner has already made a bid for the debt-laden company.
