Universal Television Appoints New Comedy Exec

UNIVERSAL CITY: Universal Television has made Andy Weil its VP of comedy development.

Weil will report to Tracey Pakosta, the new senior VP of comedy development at Universal Television. Prior to his new role, Weil served as the head of scripted television at BermanBraun, working on Alphas for Syfy through a four-year development and supervising the NBC drama The Cape.

Bela Bajaria, the executive VP of Universal Television, said, "Andy has great creative instincts, strong relationships and a good track record in selling comedies. He’ll be a wonderful addition to our already strong team at Universal TV."
