Hell on Wheels Finds British Home on TCM

LONDON: Endemol Worldwide Distribution has sold the new AMC original Hell on Wheels to TCM (Tuner Classic Movies) for a 2012 premiere in the U.K.

Produced by Entertainment One (eOne) in association with Endemol USA and Nomadic Pictures, the series makes its U.S. debut on November 6 on AMC. To date, the series has been acquired by Sundance Channel for Portugal, Spain and Central and Eastern Europe, as well as AB Droits for France, Antena 3 in Spain, TV Norge in Norway and CNBC-e in Turkey.

Jemma Yates, the director of general entertainment for the U.K. and Eire at Turner Broadcasting, said: “We are thrilled that Hell on Wheels will have its first U.K. debut on TCM in a deal which marks our continued investment in high quality content for the channel.”

Cathy Payne, the chief executive at Endemol Worldwide Distribution, added: "Hell on Wheels is an epic drama, a character-driven historical series with an amazing cast. We are extremely pleased to be working with TCM to bring the series to U.K. audiences."
