The X Factor Set for Second Season in the U.S.

LOS ANGELES: FOX has ordered a second season of Simon Cowell‘s latest talent competition The X Factor, which is currently ranking as the number one reality series on broadcast TV in the U.S. for the fall season.

The X Factor is averaging more than 13 million viewers currently. The show was created by Syco Television and is produced by Syco and FremantleMedia North America.

"I am absolutely thrilled with the news," said Cowell. "I have loved making the show and I want to thank FOX, our sponsors and most importantly, the fans for supporting The X Factor."

"The X Factor is a monumental success," added Mike Darnell, the president of alternative entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company. "It’s won every night it’s been on the air, the talent is phenomenal, the live shows are spectacular and picking it up is a complete no-brainer. Simon and his team have done an incredible job with the show, and I’m absolutely thrilled to bring back The X Factor for another fantastic season."
