LONDON: Chef Thomasina Miers, who won Masterchef in 2005, is to host the new Food Network UK series Mexican Food Made Simple, set to premiere next month.

The eight-episode half-hour series was picked up from Blink Films and features Miers traveling throughout Mexico to discover the freshest and most fiery recipes. A 2005 Masterchef winner, Miers spent a year working in Mexico before opening her first Mexican restaurant, Wahaca, in London’s West End in 2007. She has also authored cookbooks such as Mexican Food Made Simple, and opened a second Wahaca in 2008, and two more restaurants in Canary Wharf and Soho.

Mexican Food Made Simple is fun, full of flavor and the perfect series for Food Network UK," said Nick Thorogood, the managing director of Food Network EMEA. "We are always on the hunt for quality programming that focuses on world fare. Mexican food is a rapidly growing cuisine and Thomasina does a remarkable job dishing out amazingly authentic recipes with a twist that anyone can recreate."
