Spanish Delegation Heads to Cannes

CANNES: The Spanish delegation at MIP Junior and MIPCOM will feature 30 companies exhibiting under the Audiovisual from Spain banner, also with umbrella stands for Basque Audiovisual and Catalan Films & TV and independent stands for Imagina International Sales and Radio Televisión Española.

Several companies have already confirmed deals and co-productions ahead of the market. Elastic Rights scored a co-production deal with Resonant for the series Lola, Muse in Training, which will be presented at MIP Junior. Phileas Productions landed a format agreement in the U.S. with Zoo for The ATM. Explora Films announced sales in Europe, including the documentary The Lords of Sipan heading to Italy’s RAI and India, the Pilgrims of the Ganges heading to France 5. Other deals were with Visat History and SVT, Czech pubcaster Ceska Televize, Germany’s Phoenix and Kultura of Russia. Animal Planet in the Asia Pacific went for a package of HD docs, including Isolated, The Last Dragon and The Twilight of the Giants. Imira is launching its new animated series Lucky Fred, with co-producer and partner TV3. The series has already presold in more than 150 territories.

For MIP Junior, Imira Entertainment has been selected for the eight annual Licensing Challenge for its animated series Myo & Go, co-produced with Korea’s VOOZ. The Kids’ Jury will feature Mago Production and the series The Flying Squirrels.
