Mediaset Italia Heads to Israel

LONDON: The Italian-language Mediaset Italia channel has scored carriage on Israeli cable platform HOT, in a deal secured by Chello Zone.

Mediaset Italia features the best of mainstream Italian television from the local channels Canale 5, Italia 1 and Rete 4. The channel is focused on serving the 60 million Italians living around the world.

Patricio Teubal, the head of sales at Mediaset Italia, commented on the launch, “Mediaset Italia showcases some of the most popular programming in Italy and its launch on HOT, the leading TV company in Israel, means the channel is now available to circa. 900,000 viewers. Its mix of entertainment, news, drama and sitcoms ensures its international appeal across a wide demographic, making the channel a compelling proposition for viewers.” 

Ron Hermelin, the head of channels at HOT, added, "HOT is proud to collaborate with our partners and add to HOT’s offering Mediaset Italia, broadcasting content from leading channels in Italy. HOT continues offering its subscribers the widest variety of language channels in Israel."  

Louise Cottrell, the VP of affiliate sales for Chello Zone, added, “HOT has carried our brands for many years and currently includes Zone Reality, Extreme Sports Channel and Zone Romantica on the platform. The addition of Mediaset Italia further cements this long-standing relationship.”
