HOLLYWOOD: The Jim Henson Company’s HIP Brands has lined up new international licensing agents for the multiplatform Psyclops brand.

The multiplatform product and online experience is for tweens, teens and young adults, featuring funny, contemporary one-eyed characters that embrace the world of music, art, dance and technology. Spain’s Carmen Arize Licensing will handle the brand licensing throughout Europe, excluding the U.K., France, Israel and Russia. Alphanim, part of the Gaumont Group, is responsible for licensing in France, while Wild Pumpkin International Licensing will represent the brand in Australia. Segal Licensing will serve as Psyclops licensing rep in Canada.

HIP Brands will be at Brand Licensing Europe in October looking to develop branded consumer products for Psyclops in key categories such as toys, designer plush, apparel, home furnishings, stationery, gifts, social expression, personal care, publishing, food and electronics.

Melissa Segal, the senior VP of global consumer products at The Jim Henson Company, said: “The Psyclops brand is driven by its compelling graphic design and humor.” Segal added: “The brand also uses new media platforms and viral marketing to engage with and expand upon its strong consumer base, all of which is very appealing to international brand partners.”
