FremantleMedia Continues Strong Business in Asia

LONDON: FremantleMedia has done a number of deals in Asia so far this year, with formats such as The X Factor, Hole in the Wall and Take Me Out continuing to roll out across the region.

The X Factor is currently in its first season in China on LRTV. The show recently wrapped its first season on Sony TV in India, where the Idols format has been re-commissioned for a sixth run by Sony TV.

The Fuji TV format Hole in the Wall debuted on CTN in Cambodia, and recently aired for the first time in Thailand on Channel 7. The format is heading into its fourth season in China on CCTV and in Indonesia on ANTV.

Got Talent is set for a local treatment in Vietnam. The format launched this year with a local version in Thailand on Channel 3 and in South Korea on Channel tvN. Dragon TV in China, Colours in India and ABS CBN in the Philippines have all signed on for third seasons of the format.

Take Me Out has scored a number of commissions and re-commissions in Asia. The format will launch in Malaysia on NTV7 in November. A first season recently concluded in Thailand on Channel 3, as did season two in China on Hunan TV. In South Korea, seasons two and three ran back to back on CJ Media and Take Me Out is now in its fourth season on the channel.

A number of FremantleMedia’s formats are in production in Indonesia, including Total Blackout (ANTV), Comedians Under the Hammer (MNCTV), Let’s Dance (Indosiar), Let’s Make a Deal (ANTV) and All New Hot Streak (ANTV).

As for game shows, The Price is Right is heading into its eighth season on TVT3 in Vietnam. Family Feud has been a hit in Vietnam as well, on HTV 7. Family Feud also continues to air in Indonesia on ANTV.
