New Dancing with the Stars Cast Unveiled

BURBANK: Chaz Bono, David Arquette and Nancy Grace are among those who have signed on for this season’s Dancing with the Stars, which returns to ABC in September.

On September 19, all 12 couples will take to the dancefloor for the first time on live TV. The following day will feature a live, one-hour special, Dancing with the Stars: Meet the Cast, at 8 p.m. Dancing with the Stars the Results Show returns in the 9 p.m. slot.

The roster for this season includes David Arquette, an actor, writer, director and producer; Ron Artest, a member of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team; Chaz Bono, a LGBT right activities and child of famed entertainers Sonny and Cher; and Elisabetta Canalis, a figure in high fashion and advertising. Also on board for are Nancy Grace, a legal analyst; Rob Kardashian, the youngest son of the late attorney Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner; Carson Kressley, celebrity stylist, author and fashion designer; Ricki Lake, who’s returning to daytime with The Ricki Lake Show in fall 2012; and J.R. Martinez, an Iraq War veteran, motivational speaker and actor on ABC’s All My Children. Rounding out the cast are Chynna Phillips, singer/songwriter and daughter of musicians John and Michelle Phillips of famed ’60s group The Mamas and The Papas, and Hope Solo, a starter for the U.S. women’s national soccer team.
