Disney Channel Adds Animated Fairy Special for Fall

BURBANK: Pixie Hollow Games, a new animated special that is part of the Disney Fairies franchise, has been added to the Disney Channel’s fall lineup.

Production has begun on Pixie Hollow Games, a special about the three-day competitive event among fairies and sparrow men in the enchanted land of Pixie Hollow. It is executive-produced by John Lasseter (Toy Story, Cars) and directed by Bradley Raymond (Tinker Bell) and will feature the voices of Disney Channel stars, including Brenda Song (The Suite Life on Deck), Jason Dolley (Good Luck Charlie), Tiffany Thornton (So Random!), Zendaya (Shake It Up) and Megan Hilty (NBC’s upcoming musical series Smash).

The Disney Fairies franchise, which launched in 2005, is built around the character Tinker Bell and her fairy friends in Pixie Hollow. More than 1,000 Disney Fairies and Tinker Bell books have been published in 57 countries and 33 languages, selling nearly 30 million copies.
