MONTREAL: HOLA Entertainment has scored the pan-regional broadcast rights for the Canadian Football League’s current season to air on the newly launched sports channel Viva Sports in Latin America.

Viva Sports from MVS Televisión is part of the MVS Comunicaciones corporation, and is the first sports entertainment pay-TV channel to offer a wide variety of programming. The football matches began airing on Viva Sports on July 8, with varying schedules and are commentated in Spanish by local sportscasters.

“While our league is proudly Canadian, our teams have fans all over the world,” said Matt Maychak, the VP of communications and broadcast for the CFL. “And we are excited to share our game with whom we hope will become our new fans in Latin America.”

“HOLA Entertainment has been a great link between the two parties," commented Alejandro Vázquez Vela Duhalt, the director of content at MVS Televisión. "Thanks to their help, our Latin American audience can enjoy this live event, until now unprecedented in the Spanish-language channels.”

Mercedes Álvarez, the director of HOLA Entertainment, added: “We are very proud to have served as a bridge between both audiences and we hope this will set a precedent for future collaborations.”
