NGCI & NHNZ Team Up for New Series

WASHINGTON, D.C.: NHNZ has been tapped to produce the new series Man Hunt for National Geographic Channels International, with the show slated to launch this month.

The 4×1-hour series features former zoo-keeper Hayden Turner as he travels the globe exploring remote tribes. Tuner explores ancient hunting strategies to survive the harsh and isolated environments, which include the Kalahari Desert, among other locations.

“Using strategies developed over thousands of years, these hunters don’t wield guns or bullets, but handmade weapons,” Turner said. “Their skills are exceptional; not only the precision of their hunting techniques and their respect for the animals they’re about to kill for food, but also their incredible knowledge of the animal’s behavior, and that’s what I want to learn from them most.”

John Hyde, the executive producer, added, “The Western world has been progressively disconnected from food origins, but maybe the tide is turning. Man Hunt goes to the origins of hunting, and teaches us a thing or two about the hardship surrounding the reality of food.”

“There are few places left where man still hunts traditionally and sustainably, relying on well-honed instincts and distinctively fashioned tools using resources found in the wild,” commented Geoff Daniels, the senior VP of NGCI and Nat Geo Wild. “Man Hunt offers viewers a unique perspective on man acting as one with the natural world.”
