Discovery Adds to Fall Lineup

SILVER SPRING: A number of new series have been slated for Discovery Channel’s fall roster, including the four-part Dinosaur Revolution, launching in September.

Kicking off September 4, Dinosaur Revolution provides an insider’s view into the lives and strange behaviors of dinosaurs. The series uses animation to bring the prehistoric creatures to life.

Launching in October, Carfellas looks at the used-car business through the point of view of reformed convict Mikey D and his crew at Broadway Motors in Amityville. Gunsmoke (working title) spotlights one of the oldest gun shops west of the Mississippi, led by a third-generation family of gunsmiths. Pen & Teller Tell a Lie features the iconic duo telling outrageous and mind-blowing stories, featuring visual stunts. However, in each episode one of these stories is a lie and it’s up to the audience to decide which. Set to launch in November, Weed Wars shines a light on the now-legal business of the country’s leading medical cannabis dispensaries. Viewers get a glimpse inside Oakland’s Harborside Health Center, a medical marijuana dispensary that services more than 80,000 patients.

Returning series on Discovery’s fall slate include Man, Woman, Wild, which features a thrill-seeking married couple who must make their way out of the Amazon jungle. Swamp Loggers features fourth-generation logger Bobby Goodson as he returns to the dangerous swamps of North Carolina. American Chopper is back with all-new episodes this September, looking at the father-son team who are embroiled in a legal dispute. Also returning this September are Swamp Brothers, featuring the Keszey brothers, and Storm Chasers, with meteorologist Reed Timmer, IMAX filmmaker Sean Casey and veteran chaser Tim Samaras. October sees the return of Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe, Mythbusters and Gold Rush: Alaska. In November, Flying Wild Alaska heads back to Discovery Channel.
