CHEVY CHASE: Production for the new travel series The Layover, hosted by Anthony Bourdain of No Reservations, has been greenlit by the Travel Channel and is expected to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2011.

The Travel Channel and Zero Point Zero are producing the 10×1-hour series. With only 24 to 48 hours in each city he travels to in the U.S., Europe and Asia, Bourdain shows viewers his must see places, people and food.

"This is a chance to show viewers the secrets of Tony’s traveling routine: cracking open the essence of each city, getting right to the marrow of every experience, and making the most out of every moment,” said Fred Graver, the senior VP of programming and development at the Travel Channel. “These shows are not only about finding the best of every city, but they’re filled with amazing tips and tricks for where to go, where to stay, where to eat, and how to get around.”

The Layover will give viewers a hyper-caffeinated, utilitarian take on the Bourdain travel experience," added Lydia Tenaglia, co-founder of Zero Point Zero. "It’s Tony going straight at a city and showing what he thinks can and should be accomplished in a limited amount of time—brace yourself."

The seventh season of No Reservations earned four Emmy nominations this year and the show has already garnered Emmy wins.
