RTL Nederland Appoints Senior VP of Programming Strategy

HILVERSUM: Wim ter Laak has been appointed the senior VP of programming strategy at RTL Nederland, to start in his new role on August 22.

Ter Laak will advise Matthias Scholten, the executive director of content, as well as the programming directors. He will focus on new format trends and media concepts such as developing TV formats for online platforms.

Prior to this, Ter Laak worked for Eyeworks in Los Angeles and Amsterdam. From 2004 to 2007, he was the director of programming at RTL 4.

“Many successful formats originate from the U.S. or Great Britain,” said Scholten. “It is therefore important that RTL closely monitors trends in these countries. Wim has many years of experience in program development and channel programming. In addition, he has further developed his expertise in the American format and concept sector. This knowledge will be extremely useful for the continual modernization and optimization of our channels.”
