LOS ANGELES: Shine International has had seven formats commissioned across Central and Eastern Europe in a new round of deals, including Polsat ordering a second season of Must Be the Music for Poland.

Must Be the Music ranked as Polsat’s number one show of the year, garnering 4.1 million viewers with a market share of 25 percent (more than double the channel’s average).

Ukraine’s TET TV commissioned local versions of Date My Mom and Tough Love, while New Channel re-commissioned Identity. In the Czech Republic, FTV Prima re-commissioned Single Moms. SF Productions is on board to produce a local treatment of Style By Jury for Russia. Also in Russia, TNT re-commissioned Identity for a tenth season.

“Coming out of DISCOP, Shine International has more formats in production in Central and Eastern Europe than ever before,” said Lisa Higginson, the manager of international distribution at Shine International. We’ve experienced unprecedented success with Must Be the Music and the launch of MasterChef, which will only continue to grow as the brand continues to gain momentum internationally. With the strength of the format market in the region, Central and Eastern Europe remains a key focus for Shine International in 2011.”
