LONDON: The Good Food channel in the U.K. has commissioned two new seasons of Choccywoccydoodah, which features the internationally acclaimed Brighton-based cake shop’s creations.

After the success of the first season, the 10×30-minute Twofour Broadcast series Choccywoccydoodah was re-commissioned for a second run, which will premiere on Good Food in October, and the third season is set for the first quarter of 2012.

The observational documentary series showcases the shop’s team, which produces more than 7,500 cakes per year for celebrity clients like Madonna, Johnny Depp and Kylie Minogue and foreign dignitaries.

“We’re delighted to be working with Twofour Broadcast once more, to bring the magical and unconventional world of Choccywoccydoodah to a much wider audience,” said Shirani Sabaratnam, the commissioning editor at UKTV. “It was an instant hit with Good Food’s viewers who have really taken the characters to heart and enjoy watching the ups and downs of this amazing shop.”

Clare Laycock, the interim director of lifestyle at Good Food, added: “Choccywoccydoodah has been a great success for Good Food, being the highest rating commission on the channel in the last four years. It appeals not only to food lovers who are fascinated by the making of fabulous chocolate creations and cakes, but also to a younger audience, and is part of the channel’s commitment to providing entertainment led content for peak hours.”

Juliet Rice, the head of factual entertainment at Twofour Broadcast, commented: “We’re delighted to be working on two brand new series of Choccywoccydoodah for Good Food. It is a pleasure to be surrounded by this quite fantastical chocolate world, which is utterly enticing. The team’s cakes and designs are creations that are simply out of this world and the journeys they take to make them, make completely compelling TV!”
