PREMIUM: The De Agostini Editore-owned kids’ channel DeA Super! is on the lookout for a live-action series to appeal to its core 8-to-12 audience.

Launched last year, DeA Super!—carried on SKY Italia—is led by Massimo Bruno as channel manager, with programming overseen by Benedetta Del Nero and acquisitions handled by Vincenzo Sarno. About 80 percent of its grid is acquired, with Marathon-produced Totally Spies and Amazing Spiez as among its signature brands.

Original content, such as Camilla Store, tends to premiere in Friday, Saturday or Sunday prime time. “We create our productions and co-productions in line with the requirements of our audience,” says a channel spokesperson, “and we plan developments to make sure that they become truly successful properties, also in terms of merchandising [and] licensing.”

The channel is looking for a new live-action series targeting kids 8 to 12, as well as international co-pro opportunities, both animation and live-action, that will skew towards girls in the tween demo.

The channel also buys for a late-night anime slot.
