Endemol Lands Deals in Ukraine at DISCOP

BUDAPEST: The international reality hits Big Brother and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, among others, are to air in Ukraine this year, following new deals from Endemol.

Endemol Poland is producing Big Brother, of which the first season has been picked up for Ukraine broadcasts to air in prime time for fall. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will debut at prime time on channel STB, while the Novy TV channel renewed the talent series Operation Triumph for a fourth season.

“The Ukraine has an extremely vibrant market and it’s great to see an increase in local production in the region,” said Marina Williams, the CEO of Central and Eastern Europe at Endemol. “There is a massive trend towards reality television there and Big Brother remains at the forefront of this phenomenon. These are some of the top global formats in Endemol’s portfolio and it’s fantastic to bring them to viewers in the Ukraine.”

In 2010, 19 seasons of Big Brother aired across 81 countries and the format has continued to be picked up by new territories in 2011.
