MUNICH: Belgium’s vtm has commissioned a local production of Danni Lowinski in a deal with SevenOne International, to be produced for the network by Sultan Sushi, a subsidiary of the ProSiebenSat.1 company Red Arrow Entertainment.

The series will launch on vtm under the same name in 2012. Danni Lowinski follows the life of a 30-something hairdresser who began studying law and is enthusiastic about finally practicing her profession. She wants more out of life than to go back to hairdressing, so she decides to offer legal advice to the less fortunate in a quite unusual setting. In Germany, Danni Lowinski just wrapped its second season on Sat.1. The series has generated audience shares of up to 17.6 percent for the channel.

Henrik Pabst, the director of international format acquisition and regional sales director for Benelux, Scandinavia and the U.K., said: "Danni Lowinski is based on a truly unique concept: a hairdresser-turned-lawyer who fights for the underdogs with unconventional methods. The programming executives at vtm were taken by the outspoken lawyer right away and we cannot wait to see the Belgian version."
