SHERMAN OAKS: Paul Reaney has been hired as the VP of development at ITV Studios America, after having most recently served in the same capacity at FremantleMedia.

Reaney will be based in the Los Angeles headquarters. He will play a key role in developing new programming for the U.S. broadcast and cable networks. At FremantleMedia, Reaney was responsible for developing series such as Down Fall (ABC), Rock the Cradle (MTV) and Thank God You’re Here (NBC). Prior to FremantleMedia, Reaney was a senior producer/reporter for the BBC and held producing roles at Mentorn, Cineflix and Five.

“Paul is an ideal new addition to our team, as we continue to grow in the scripted, nonscripted and first-run syndication arenas,” said Bruce Robertson, ITV Studios America’s senior VP of creative strategy. “With the pickups of two network series, Prime Suspect (NBC) and Buried Treasure (FOX) and with America Now becoming a daily strip series, Paul’s talents will allow us to capitalize on our strengths and continue with our rapid growth.”

Paul Buccieri, ITV Studios America’s CEO and president, added, “Paul’s experience developing successful programming, and his strong background as a producer, will help us achieve our long term goal, to be a viable player in all aspects of U.S. television programming.”

“I am delighted to be joining the ITV Studios America team,” Reaney commented. “I’m coming on board on the heels of a very exciting time with the announcements of Prime Suspect and Buried Treasure. It will be refreshing to be a part of this dynamic team and I’m confident that my background will enable us to grow in all facets of the business.”
