News Corp. Veteran Takes Programming Post at Sky Deutschland

MUNICH: Gary Davey, a longtime News Corporation executive whose career has included running STAR in Hong Kong and serving as managing director of Sky in the U.K., is joining Sky Deutschland as executive VP of programming.

Davey has been working with the German pay-TV platform as a consultant since July 2010, in addition to serving as COO of News Corp. Television Stations Europe. He will now focus his efforts exclusively on the programming and fiction department at Sky Deutschland, reporting to CEO Brian Sullivan.

Davey’s remit will include developing and managing Sky´s entertainment programming and creative strategy, including the Sky Film movie service and the entertainment and information channels in the Sky Welt offering. He will also support Sullivan in driving Sky’s overall creative agenda.
