LONDON: BBC Magazines and Spellbound Entertainment have entered into an agreement that sees a preschool magazine app created for The Koala Brothers.

The app will feature the Koala Brothers characters worked into the context of the editorial of BBC Pre-School Magazines. The app will coincide with the program’s relaunch on Disney Junior in the U.S. in 2012. It will initially be available on iTunes for the iPad, iPod touch and Mac users, with expansion to Android devices later next year.

Pauline Cooke, the publisher of preschool titles at BBC Magazines, said: “We have a long-standing relationship with Spellbound and a great understanding of the Koala Brothers brand, so we are very excited about working together to create something that’s truly unique in this market: a multi-layered super app for preschoolers.”

Peter Curtis, joint managing director of Spellbound Entertainment, added: “We are delighted to be working with BBC Magazines, the market leaders in preschool magazines, on this exciting new venture. The app market is growing fast and we believe a digital magazine app for The Koala Brothers will be very popular with our fan base across the globe.”
