CBC Unveils Prime-Time Grid

TORONTO: CBC’s fall schedule includes Camelot and two new Canadian comedies, plus the recently announced Cover Me Canada, which will air as part of a reality TV block on Sunday nights.

The new Canadian comedies are Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays and Mr. D. The Canadian broadcaster has also scheduled a one-hour drama about renegade pilots, called Arctic Air. Sunday prime time will be devoted to reality TV with the returning Battle of the Blades and the new talent contest Cover Me Canada, to be hosted by former All Saints member Nicole Appleton.

Other highlights of the 2011-2012 schedule include back-to-back daily episodes of Coronation Street, a new daytime cooking series In the Kitchen with Stefano Faita, the TV movie Keep Your Head Up, Kid: The Don Cherry Story Part 2 and the one-hour special Long Story Short: CBC Turns 75. CBC has also renewed Heartland, InSecurity, The Republic of Doyle, Being Erica and Doc Zone, among others.
