Switchover Media to Launch Licensing Unit

ROME: Switchover Licensing is the newly established in-house licensing, franchise management and brand marketing unit of Italian broadcaster Switchover Media.

Switchover Media owns the kids’ free-to-air channels K2 and Frisbee. Switchover Licensing will then be developing licensing, sponsorship and brand marketing activities related to programming aired on K2 and Frisbee, in addition to managing the channels’ brands. The new unit will be led by Tiziana Barbuto, who previously held roles at Victoria Licensing & Marketing (Mattel), Oregon Scientific and Giochi Preziosi.

“Licensing, brand marketing and franchise management represent the natural extension of kids targeted TV,” said Francesco Nespega, managing partner at Switchover Media. “In the current development stage of our TV business, the launch of our new licensing division is an obvious step to fully exploit the wide coverage of our channels.”
