LONDON/NEW YORK: Babelgum has commissioned an additional 12 episodes of Kids Reenact, a pop-culture parody that features children recreating scenes from some of TV and film’s guiltiest pleasures.

The first two new viral shorts, Kids Reenact: The Bachelorette, are available starting today on Babelgum’s web and mobile platforms. They are part of a four-video mini-series based on the long-running ABC hit The Bachelorette. The young actors are parodying the iconic rose ceremonies, cheesy dates and outrageous situations from the TV dating series. A second four-video series, Kids Reenact: Summer Blockbusters, is due out in July. The young actors will be recreating scenes from some of the summer’s top film releases, including The Hangover 2, Greenlantern, Cowboys and Aliens and Planet of the Apes.

Kids Reenact continues to be a huge traffic driver because we strategically tap into the existing audiences of today’s most popular series and provide smart parodies of the shows they already know and love,” said Amber J. Lawson, Babelgum’s comedy publisher. “We chose material based on timeliness and focused media attention, increasing the likelihood of being picked up by other outlets and going viral. This format has proved successful in creating series on zeitgeisty topics like Kanye’s Tweets, where the kids reenacted Kanye West’s real-life tweets. That truth in comedy plus kids equals the closest formula to a sure-fire original content viral hit.”
