LONDON: Through a deal with Endemol Sport, FOX Soccer becomes the exclusive home of the Dublin Super Cup in the U.S. and Canada, starting with the inaugural 2011 tournament through 2013.

This new pre-season tournament debuts in July, with the firm team squads of Manchester City, Inter Milan, Celtic and a League of Ireland XI. FOX Soccer serves as the exclusive home for the event in the U.S. and Canada, and will also air the Dublin Super Cup across the Caribbean.

The deal follows on Endemol Sport striking a three-year partnership with Sky Sports for the Dublin Super Cup for the U.K. and Ireland. Further deals are to be announced in due course, to bring the tournament into more than 100 territories across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Joshua Glassel, FOX Soccer’s VP of programming and acquisitions, commented: “The Dublin Super Cup is an important jewel in FOX Soccer’s crown of summer programming. Our long-term agreement means the Dublin Super Cup will live on FOX Soccer for three years, which is exciting for us and even more so for our viewers.”

Gregg Oldfield, the managing director of Endemol Sport, commented: “We are thrilled to be partnering with a leading broadcaster like FOX to bring the Dublin Super Cup to soccer fans in the world’s biggest market. This is the second major international partnership we’ve announced for the tournament in recent weeks and we expect to finalize further deals soon.”
