HISTORY HD Heads to Israel

NEW YORK/TEL AVIV: A Hebrew-language service for HISTORY HD has launched on YES in Israel, featuring programming such as The Universe, Ice Road Truckers, American Pickers and World War II Lost Films.

HISTORY HD will broadcast 100 percent in high definition, offering a separate schedule from the standard-definition service. HISTORY’s SD channel has been available on YES since July 2000.

“We are very pleased to team with our long-standing partners Tel-Ad to launch HISTORY HD on YES in Israel,” said Dean Possenniskie, the managing director for EMEA at A&E Television Networks (AETN). “HISTORY has built a significant library of stunning HD content covering a diverse range of topics that are sure to appeal to viewers in Israel.”
