MTVNI Secures Deals for Animation Portfolio

LONDON: MTV Networks International (MTVNI) has scored a number of deals and renewals across the world from its animation portfolio.

Ireland’s TG4 snapped up episodes 121 to 142 of SpongeBob SquarePants, while Italy’s La 7D signed on for Rugrats and The Wild Thornberrys.

Meanwhile, in Serbia, B92/Doda Media picked up season seven of SpongeBob SquarePants and Bulgaria’s TV7 cable, satellite and free-to-air terrestrial platforms, including Super 7 and TV7 IPTV service, signed on for a Nickelodeon branded block deal. Included in the block are more than 20 Nickelodeon animation and live-action series, such as Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants and The Penguins of Madagascar.

Atlantic Pictures, which works across French-speaking Africa, is taking comedy animation Catdog, as well as SpongeBob SquarePants.

In the Asia-Pacific region, New Zealand’s Four signed up for a Nickelodeon package that includes renewals on seasons one to nine of Rugrats, as well as specials; seasons one and two of Rocko’s Modern Life; seasons one and two of AAAHH!!! Real Monsters; seasons one to five of Hey Arnold; seasons one to six of The Wild Thornberrys; seasons one to four of As told by Ginger; seasons one and two of All Grown Up; seasons one to six of My life as a Teenage Robot; and seasons one and two of Kappa Mikey.

Malaysia’s TV3 scored Fanboy and Chum Chum, while the country’s RTM signed on for a package deal that includes Blue’s Clue’s Room, The Wild Thornberrys and Rocket Power. BBTV 7 in Thailand also acquired SpongeBob Squarepants.

In Latin America, Ecuavisa in Ecuador picked up Rugrats, while FETV in Panama took new episodes and renewals of SpongeBob SquarePants, The Mighty B!, Blue’s Clues, Hey Arnold and The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron.

Bolivia’s ATB is taking a number of episodes from season two of Penguins of Madagascar.

Megavision in Chile signed episodes from season seven of Fairly Odd Parents; season one of Fanboy and Chum Chum; and various episodes of Penguins of Madagascar. Megavision also secured renewals on Hey Arnold, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
