OSLO: FOX International Channels has sealed a carriage deal to bring FOX Crime to the Norwegian platform Canal Digital, adding about 700,000 homes to its local distribution base.

FOX Crime joins Canal Digital as part of its Family Package on DTH and its digital basic package on cable. The channel previously rolled out in Norway on Riks TV and Altibox. The Canal Digital debut comes in time for the April 28 premiere of The Walking Dead. The programming lineup also includes The Glades, Law & Order: SVU, Fringe, Monk, The Bridge and Warehouse 13.

Ase Ytreland, managing director of FIC for Nordic & Baltic Regions, noted, “It’s gratifying to be able to reach so many new households only one month after the channel’s launch. FOX Crime has been tailor-made to the Norwegian market, and our unique focus on crime and suspense entertainment seems to be very appreciated by the viewers. Together with our existing leading factual brand, National Geographic Channel, FOX Crime will help us become a strong local player in the Nordic television industry."
