Comedy Central Series Score Worldwide Pickups

LONDON: MTV Networks International has sold a number of shows from the Comedy Central portfolio, including Tosh.0 and The Colbert Report, to international broadcasters.

Tosh.0 was launched for international syndication at MIPTV. The show is now headed to Australia’s Foxtel, TV Norge’s male-skewed MAX channel in Norway, Canal+ in Spain and 2×2 in Russia. The third season premiered on Comedy Central in the U.S. with 3.6 million viewers, marking the highest-rated and most-watched Tuesday evening prime-time airing ever.

The Colbert Report is also headed to Foxtel in Australia, along with the stand-up showcase Comedy Central Presents and The Sarah Silverman Show. Canal+ in Spain has signed up for The Colbert Report Global Edition. A third season of The Sarah Silverman Show is also getting a pan-Latin America debut, through a deal with SPE Networks/Sony.

The police mokumentary Reno 911 got picked up by Rede TV in Brazil and Pop TV in Slovenia. A fourth season of Live at Gotham was scooped up by TV Norge for MAX.

South Park continues its international rollout, with new deals and renewals signed with Foxtel, 2×2, Pop TV, B92/Doda Media in Serbia and TELETOON in Canada.
