LOS ANGELES/LONDON/TORONTO: Mediaset has scored the free-TV rights to the North American cop drama Rookie Blue from Entertainment One (eOne) Television.

The series made its debut on ABC and Global Television last summer and averaged 8.5 million viewers a week. A second season premieres in North America this June. The show follows a group of young police officers, with a cast that includes Missy Peregrym, Gregory Smith, Charlotte Sullivan, Enuka Okuma and Travis Milne.

Along with the sales to ABC and Canwest, the global pay-TV rights were previously acquired by Universal Networks International.
