LOS ANGELES/LONDON: FOX International Channels (FIC) in Australia has reached a deal with Entertainment One Television (eOne) for the rights to the hit series The Walking Dead.

FIC in Australia has acquired the pay television, extended and basic cable and free television rights for show, which heads into second-season production this summer. It is a global co-production of AMC and Fox International Channels and based on the graphic novels by Robert Kirkman. Frank Darabont is writer, director and exec-producer, with a cast that includes Andrew Lincoln and Sarah Wayne Callies.

This latest deal follows eOne licensing the show to Sundance Channel (second window) in France and TET in Ukraine. The show recently rolled out on Channel 5 in the U.K. Deals are also in place with DBS Satellite in Israel, TV11 (TV4 Group) in Sweden and Orange in France. TVNZ, TV Norge, Danish Broadcasting Corporation and RTE in Ireland acquired the free terrestrial television rights. The free basic cable rights went to FOX International Channels in Norway. ITC in Iceland has pay terrestrial TV rights. eOne is partnered with Fox International Channels to sell all television, digital and DVD rights outside of North America.
