LONDON: The fantasy adventure series Xena: Warrior Princess has been acquired from NBCUniversal International Television Distribution by Chello Zone for its Horror Channel in the U.K.

The series will begin airing weekdays starting April 25. Xena is a spin-off from the cult favorite series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Lucy Lawless stars in the title role.

Chello Zone also picked up The Lost World, based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s book of the same name. The complete three seasons feature a group of explorers who find themselves lost in a new work where prehistoric vampires, ape-men and blood-sucking vampires roam the earth. The show was picked up from The Fremantle Corporation.

Alina Florea, the director of programming for CBS Chello Zone UK Channels, commented: “Both of these series have huge fan bases, and fit perfectly with Horror Channel broadcasting the best horror and supernatural shows available. They’re well-known adventure shows which offer true escapism for our ever expanding audience.”
