Endemol UK Takes Stake in Entertainment Website

LONDON: Endemol UK has picked up a 50-percent stake in Holy Moly, a popular British entertainment website that has a million monthly users.

With the investment, Holy Moly will expand into TV, music, film, fashion and more. The two companies will partner on the development of new multiplatform entertainment ideas and the brand will be taken to international markets.

Jamie East, the site’s founder and editor—previously only known as Mr. Holy Moly—noted, "Eight years after starting Holy Moly on a hidden laptop underneath my work desk, no-one is more surprised and happy than me to find myself joining forces with Endemol, which I’ve always thought of as the most handsome and intelligent media company on the planet. Together we will be unstoppable and I’m really looking forward to the adventures that lie in wait."
