Zodiak Rights Renews TéVé Pact

LONDON: Zodiak Rights has renewed and expanded its distribution pact with the Netherlands’ TéVé Media Group in a five-year deal that covers the rights to Psychic Challenge, Psychic Challenge International and Celebrity Love Match.

Psychic Challenge first aired on Channel 5 (then Five) in 2005 and has been adapted in 13 markets, including the U.S. (Lifetime) and Russia (TNT). The U.K. and U.S. shows have been licensed to a number of broadcasters, among them Living, FOXTEL and AXN Asia. Psychic Challenge International is a format that brings together the globe’s top psychics to compete against each other. Celebrity Love Match, based on the RTL4 show Who Picks Tatjana, sees a famous person looking for love.

Celebrity Love Match is the natural successor to the more traditional ‘whittle’ dating shows; not only does it even out the balance between the candidates and the person picking, it has inbuilt traction by featuring a popular personality," said Barnaby Shingleton, Zodiak Rights’ head of entertainment. "This is all about the meeting of the regular world with the world of celebrity and how well they cope with each other.”
