LOS ANGELES: MarVista Entertainment has secured a number of licensing agreements with Germany’s free-to-air broadcaster RTL, and Mexico’s Televisa and MVS Multivision.

RTL licensed 16 Wishes, a family film that stars Debby Ryan of The Suite Life on Deck and Jean-Luc Bilodeau of Kyle XY. The movie was written by Annie DeYoung of Disney Channel’s StarStruck and is co-produced by MarVista Entertainment and Disney Channel. In its premiere on Disney Channel, the movie rated as the number one telecast in kids 6 to 11 and tweens 9 to 14.

In Mexico, Televisa Networks also licensed 16 Wishes, as well as Riding Tornado, which stars Danny Keogh of Invictus and Matthew Dylan Roberts of Free Willy: Escape from Pirates Cove. Televisa’s deal was part of the distribution alliance with SNAP TV in Argentina from earlier this year.

MVS Multivision, meanwhile, licensed three action thrillers to air in Mexico, including Kidnapped: 48 Hours of Terror, starring Ian Ziering of Beverly Hills, 90210; The Terrorist Next Door, starring Chenier Hundal of Partition; and Meteor Storm, produced by Ron French of Frenchfilms and executive produced by MarVista’s CEO Fernando Szew and president Michael D. Jacobs. MVS Multivision also licensed four romantic comedies, including Running with the Hitman, Girl’s Best Friend and Lost in Love.

Szew said of the deals: “MarVista Entertainment has such a diverse catalog of films to offer buyers—our own original productions, co-productions we’ve partnered on or films we have expertly acquired for the global marketplace—we are now known as a top place to stop for quality entertainment that delivers a solid return on programming investment. Whether it is family entertainment, action thrillers, or romantic comedies, MarVista Entertainment has consistently delivered to its buyers.”
