Discovery Networks to Feature Royal Wedding Slate

SILVER SPRING: An exclusive slate of royalty-themed content is set to broadcast on Discovery Networks International (DNI), coinciding with the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

In addition to airing royal-wedding programming across DNI’s portfolio, which includes TLC, Discovery Real Time and Discovery Home & Health, a live feed of the royal wedding will also broadcast on April 29 in select international markets.

ITV Studios in America will produce the seven programs scheduled for the week of the royal wedding, led by Charles and Di: Once Upon a Time, a two-hour special about the 1981 marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.

Royally Astounding: 30 Defining Days of the Monarchy (working title) is a documentary that takes a look at the life of the royal family over 30 notable days.

The hour-long special Wild About Prince Harry focuses on the 26-year-old prince and his bachelor status.

Extreme Royal Collections shows individuals who have amassed countless goods from the royal family over the years.

Meanwhile, Making of a Royal Wedding is a one-hour special about the logistics involved in planning the upcoming nuptials.

In Countdown to the Royal Wedding, Randy Fenoli of Say Yes to the Dress and royal experts host a round table from the U.K., New York and elsewhere, discussing news surrounding the wedding.

Live Royal Wedding Coverage rounds out the slate of wedding-related content, featuring the nuptials and an encore special with guest reactions to air in select markets.
